Vinnie Caruana / Brandon Reilly / Matty Carlock – Brighton Bar – Long Branch, NJ – 6/4/16

With his first full length out, Survivor’s Guilt, Vinnie Caruana embarked on a two week tour in June around the North East with Long Branch being the second date. Instead of doing this tour solo, Vinnie was accompanied with friends, Steve Choi on guitar (Rx Bandits), Brandon Reilly on bass (Nightmare of You/The Movielife), and Brett Romnes on drums (I Am The Avalanche). Vinnie and company played a twelve song set featuring material from Vinnie’s e.p., full length, and two covers. The two covers were, of course, from his other bands The Movielife and I Am The Avalanche. Seeing this songs done in a small club was any fan’s dream. However, his cover of Saves The Day “Three Miles Down” would’ve fit in nicely. Opening the show on the whole tour was band mate Brandon Reilly, playing Nightmare of You songs. Unforuantely, I arrived late and only got to see the second opener, Matty Carlock from Middletown, NJ. Vinnie announced a West Coast tour in July with a backing band, and if it is anything like the East Coast dates, make sure you catch this tour.
