Kicking off 2017, Dashboard Confessional embarked on a national small club headlining tour. With most dates selling out within an hour of going on sale, Chris Carrabba and company extended their visit to New York City by playing Irving Plaza three nights in a row. Last minute openers added to the tour was This Wild Life. Making a name for themselves on the Vans Warped Tour, This Wild Life surely won over Dashboard Confessional’s fan with their duel guitar playing. Yet, the biggest reaction they received was their cover of Foo Fighters’ “Everlong”. Expect This Wild Life’s popularity to grow even bigger after this tour.
Fueled By Ramen’s latest signing, Vinyl Theatre, took the stage next. Playing their infectious pop-rock sound, the members in Vinyl Theatre never stayed in one place while performing. With a pretty extensive setlist and few covers Vinyl Theatre has the best combination to become Fueled By Ramen’s next big band.
Dashboard Confessional closed out the night with a 16 song setlist. Shorter than other dates due to Chris Carrabba playing solo secret shows later at night. However, most of the songs were focused in on the earlier years. Chris Carrabba and company went back and played the songs listeners grew up listening to. Towards the end of the set, Chris Carrabba would perform acoustically and also feature the newest song “Heart Beat Here”. The song may show up on the new album, but it is a throwback to song to his earlier songs. The song is currently free for download on HERE . Dashboard Confessional would end the night with “Hands Down” and then have to leave for his midnight show, which will be posted shortly.
