For 22 years the Vans Warped Tour has been touring the summer months as a traveling festival with over 50 bands. A one of a kind tour created by Kevin Lyman, fans flock to their closest tour date to see their favorite band, but also to discover many new bands. No matter what music you listen to, Warped Tour has something for everyone. In fact, Warped Tour is the only music festival that will have a thrash band like Municipal Waste perform and be followed by a ska band like Big D & The Kids Table. This year Warped Tour featured a lot of older harder rock bands like Hatebreed, Gwar, The Adolescents, Sick Of It All, and T.S.O.L. Also showing a strong influence was ska bands like Save Ferris, Big D & The Kids Table, Streetlight Manifesto, and Stacked Like Pancakes. To go through all the genres and bands would take some time, but to find what band is playing on your date go to http://www.vanswarpedtour.com
The Holmdel date had some great performances, Municipal Waste performed in a amphitheater with chairs, but that didn’t stop the fans from participating in a circle pit around them. Jamey Justa from Hatebreed had to go home due to his grandmother’s health, but the show went on with miscellaneous lead singers from other bands filling in on vocals. The Skullcandy and Hard Rock stages both showcased some of the best talents, but also bands that have been on many Warped Tours, while the Mutant Monster stages had more of the hard rock bands. The Journeys stages featured bands about to break like Neck Deep, Andy Black, and American Authors. While the Full Sail University stage features newer bands that fans may not be familiar with yet. For the price and amount of bands you see at Warped Tour along with all the vendors and new people you meet, you can’t beat it. Attending Warped Tour can end up being your favorite day of summer.
