Ringo Starr came to Morristown, NJ with his All Star Band and spread signature peace, love, and rock n’ roll with a star studded performance. Unlike his other Beatle bandmate Paul McCartney, Ringo settles with playing smaller, intimate venues that give the crowd the chance to feel like Ringo and his band are only playing there for them. His All Star Band this time around features Todd Rundgren on guitar, Gregg Rolie on keys, Steve Lukather on guitar, Richard Page on bass, Warren Ham on saxophone, and Gregg Bissonette on drums. This current tour is in support of Ringo’s latest album, Give More Love, and even though this date didn’t feature any songs from that album, Morristown was treated to a wide range of other songs. Within the 24 song set, Ringo and his band played Beatles’ songs, Ringo songs, but also songs from his All Star Band’s catalog. Song such as “I Saw The Light” by Todd Rundgren, “Rosanna” and “Africa” by Toto, to “Black Magic Woman” by Santana, and “Broken Wings” by Mr. Mister during which, Ringo would accompany by playing the drums. The end of the set featured all the musicians joining together in performing “With A Little Help From My Friends” with “Give Peace A Chance” chorus at the end. Attending a Ringo Starr concert is more than just seeing the former Beatle perform his music, you get a sampling of some of the best music ever made from a variety of artists. This is a show unlike any other, and when you leave you leave knowing that peace, love, and music are more powerful than anything else.
