Local Philadelphia area swing outfit Swing That Cat made their Bethlehem debut on the last day of Musikfest. Playing right before the traditional end of the festival fireworks, Swing That Cat performed to a packed room inside the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas. The room typically shows miscellaneous movies, but during Musikfest it is converted to a stage room for bands to perform in. For 45 minutes, the female led band played covers and original tunes that had the audience smiling and moving in their seats. Unfortunately, the room didn’t have enough space to allow the audience to get up and dance to the music which would’ve happened after the first song. However, this didn’t stop the audience from feeling the music, or hinder Swing That Cats’ performance. Maybe next year Musikfest will have Swing That Cat perform outside the Arts Quest building, or better yet, Main Street on the North Side. With the amount of people in attendance, Swing That Cat outgrew the room capacity for their Musikfest debut and hopefully this isn’t their last visit to Bethlehem.
