Last year during Musikfest, Bethlehem’s week long music festival, on one of their many free concert stages an energetic brass band from New York blew away the crowd with their sound and stage presence. Fast forward to 2017 and Lucky Chops made a stop back into Bethlehem in support of their latest E.P. Walter with an over excited crowd of new and definitely old fans. Opening the show was synth pop band Madaila. A young band on the rise that not only has dance able music, but are excellent musicians at their craft. I’d keep an eye on this band in the coming years. Since Musikfest, Lucky Chops have been around the world and back for what seems like 5 times now. With their latest effort, they show no sign of slowing down. As they progress, their setlist is showcasing less covers and more original material which really shows what they are capable of doing and it is turning heads. Being advocators of music in the school system and curriculum, Lucky Chops are proof that this is a vital program that should stay in schools and be celebrated.
